Fumika Nanjou (南条 文香 Nanjō Fumika) is one of the supporting characters of Seishun Buta Yarou wa Bunny Girl Senpai no Yume wo Minai series. She is a journalist who is researching the existence of Adolescence Syndrome.
Appearance[]
Fumika is a middle-aged woman with dark brown hair and brown eyes.
She wears a pale blue dress shirt and adorns her neck with a necklace.
Personality[]
While Fumika is surely passionate about her job, she is very reasonable. She agrees with Mai to prevent leaking Sakuta Azusagawa's picture of his scar in exchange for an interview with her later.
In the light novels (but not the anime), Fumika hints that she is single.
Plot[]
In the titular light novel (and first episode of the anime), Fumika visits the diner where Sakuta Azusagawa works part-time at, and he happens to be the one taking her order, pretending not to know her. Fumika asks to see Sakuta's scar as part of her investigations, but is rebuffed. Sakuta then happens to ask Fumika about Mai Sakurajima and her hiatus from acting, which leads them to strike a deal.
When Mai finds out how Sakuta knows about her hiatus, she quickly calls Fumika and asks her not to publicly reveal Sakuta's scar; in exchange she would be exclusively interviewed by Fumika about her return to showbiz. The next day, however, Fumika forgets about Mai; when Sakuta calls her, she claims that Sakuta had told her not to reveal his scar.
In Rascal Does Not Dream of Logical Witch (but not the anime episodes that adapted it), Fumika visits Sakuta again at his diner, where the latter gains insight into the kind of behavior that could be responsible for Rio Futaba's split personality. In exchange, Fumika tries to guess how far Sakuta's relationship with Mai had progressed.
At the end of Rascal Does Not Dream of Siscon Idol (the start of episode 11 in the anime), Fumika is one of the journalists in attendance at Mai's press conference where she reveals the truth about her relationship status and asks them to respect her boyfriend's privacy.
Etymology[]
- The name Fumika means "sentence" (文) (fumi) and "fragrance, fragrant" (香) (ka).
- Fumika's surname Nanjō means "south" (南) (nan) and "article" (条) (jou).
