Synopsis[]
The unforgettable high school life is over, and Sakuta and his friends become university students. One day in autumn, when I was spending new and calm days.
"Is it really Uzuki?"
The appearance of Uzuki, the leader of the idol group "Sweet Barrett", is strange. That natural Uzuki is always reading the air around him ...? Aside from Sakuta, who feels uncomfortable, no other student notices her change. Is this an encounter with an unknown adolescent syndrome, or--?
Sakuta's puberty is not over yet in a new place and meeting new people. The 10th long-awaited series that tells the beginning of a new story.
Story Notes[]
- Sakuta, now a first-year statistical sciences student at Yokohama City University, funds his studies by working as a lecturer at a nearby cram school. He maintains his previous diner role on a part-time basis.
- At a downtown tavern in Yokohama, Sakuta talks with Miori Mitou, a first-year international business student at the same university, who also does not own a cellphone.
- Sakuta later begins holding his lessons at cram school, where his old high-school friend Rio Futaba also teaches while studying at a different university. In Sakuta's class are two first-year students from Minegahara High School: Juri Yoshiwa and Kento Yamada.
- After they finish teaching, Rio mentions to Sakuta on their way home that Yuuma Kunimi completed his training to become a fireman.
- Mai Sakurajima returns from a film set to visit Sakuta at his place. She will begin attending Yokohama City University on the following week.
- Kaede now has a part-time role at Sakuta's diner, and alternates between living at Sakuta's place and at her parents' place.
- The following Monday, on the way to uni, Sakuta encounters uni acquaintance Takumi Fukuyama, who mentions the rumor that Mai is a singer named "Touko Kirishima", whose songs Takumi sang on karaoke with a few others. Takumi shows a commercial featuring one of those songs.
- At uni, Sakuta takes a Spanish lesson alongside Miori, as well as Uzuki Hirokawa, the idol singer from Sweet Bullet.
- Nodoka Toyohama, a fellow member of Sweet Bullet, is revealed to be studying liberal arts at the same uni. She pulls Sakuta over during lunch and reveals tensions within the group - Uzuki had received an offer to go solo, while others had received offers elsewhere in showbiz. Nodoka worries that Sweet Bullet may split without achieving their dream of performing at the Budokan.
- During a break at work, Kaede and her diner colleague Tomoe Koga watch the same commercial that Takumi showed Sakuta earlier. Sakuta soon recognizes that Uzuki is the dancer in that commercial.
- The next day, Sakuta finds Uzuki on the train to uni. Uzuki admits she's awkward and never learned how to make friends outside of Sweet Bullet.
- After teaching another lesson at the cram school, Sakuta talks to Tomoe on the way home. They are joined by Sara Himeji, Kento's classmate and Tomoe's friend who asks about the cram school.
- The next day, Sakuta notices Uzuki board the train he was about to get off at the university train station, and narrowly avoids getting off himself. They get off at the terminus station at Misakiguchi in the Miura Peninsula, before riding rental bikes for a while.
- Sakuta takes Uzuki to the Budokan itself, to help her overcome stage fright caused by her Adolescence Syndrome. They arrive after nightfall. Uzuki then excuses herself to rehearse her song, though invites Sakuta to her next concert.
- On the day of the concert, Mai, who had already learned how to drive, takes Sakuta to a 2000-seat venue where Sweet Bullet would be performing. They arrive late due to traffic, and find out that Sweet Bullet's performance ended abruptly due to Uzuki suddenly losing her voice on stage. The rest of Sweet Bullet agree to hold their remaining show without her.
- The following day, Sweet Bullet's concert at a different outdoor venue is disrupted by rain causing damage to the speakers. Uzuki is among the spectators. When approached by Sakuta, Uzuki finds that she can speak again. Uzuki appreciates the efforts of her bandmates to perform without her, and joins them on stage to continue the remainder of their performance.
- At the end of the show, Uzuki announces that she's going solo but not leaving Sweet Bullet, promising that they will perform at the Budokan one day. This also leads Uzuki to drop out of university to focus on her music career.
