  • Once found, Mai has her agent drive her and Sakuta to the viewpoint at Mount Utatsu. On the way, Sakuta wishes Mai a happy birthday four minutes before midnight. Once they arrive, Mai expresses her regret over not being there for Sakuta when he needed it the most. She also accepts the current living arrangements on the condition that she also stays over at Sakuta's apartment.
  • Sakuta sees the younger Shoko in hospital again. The next day, he receives a request from the older Shoko to go on a date with her. They go to a chapel overlooking the sea, in which Shoko tries on a wedding dress. Sakuta sees a scar on Shoko's chest, which confirms that the older Shoko came from the future.
  • After returning from the chapel, Sakuta and the older Shoko walk along the familiar beach. Shoko asks to see the Enoshima illumination on Christmas Eve.
  • Sakuta returns home and the events that unfold are as the older Shoko had described earlier.
  • On December 14, Sakuta sees the younger Shoko in hospital once more. The younger Shoko tearfully expresses her desire for more life, only to collapse soon afterwards and be rushed to an intensive care unit. Sakuta himself bleeds from the heart while pursuing the doctors in charge of the emergency, and collapses.

Mai brings Sakuta as far away from home as possible, but on the first change of trains, ends up crying after seeing Sakuta apparently resigned to his fate. They return home without talking to each other, and when the older Shoko greets, Sakuta decides that he wants to live.
